About Propane:
What is propane gas?
Propane gas is a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) commonly used as fuel for heating, cooking, and powering various appliances. It is a clean-burning, efficient, and portable energy source.
Is propane safe to use?
Yes, propane is safe to use as long as it is handled properly and with care. It is non-toxic and has a distinct odor added to help detect leaks. Our team will educate customers on following propane safety guidelines and identifying potential propane leaks.
How is propane used?
Propane has many uses, including heating homes and buildings, powering appliances and vehicles, and providing energy for industrial processes. It can also be used in agriculture, landscaping, and other commercial applications.
How does propane compare to other energy sources?
Propane is often compared to natural gas and electricity, as they are some of the most common energy sources. However, propane has distinct advantages, such as portability, versatility, and lower emissions. Although propane prices constantly fluctuate, it’s also more cost-effective than other fuels.
Does propane gas expire?
Propane does not expire; however, it can lose its effectiveness if not stored properly. Yoder Oil can regularly inspect propane tanks for damage or wear and ensure they are within their designated lifespan.
About Propane Tank Installation:
Do I need a professional to install my propane tank?
Yes, it is highly recommended that a professional handle the installation of your propane tank and hook-ups. Our team at Yoder Oil is trained and experienced in safely installing propane tanks and hook-ups to ensure proper functioning and prevent any hazards.
Where should I install my tank?
Your propane tank should be installed in a well-ventilated outdoor area, away from any potential sources of ignition or heat. It should also be easily accessible for deliveries and maintenance.
What are my propane tank options?
Propane tanks come in various capacity sizes and can be installed above ground or underground. Our team can help you determine the best option for your needs based on usage, space availability, safety, and budget.
Does Yoder Oil also install new gas lines?
Yes, we do. In addition to your propane tank, we can lay new gas lines and hook-ups leading up to your home. We also provide digging and excavation for exterior propane heating, such as pool and spa heating.
About Propane Delivery:
How is propane gas delivered?
Propane gas is delivered using specialized trucks equipped with large tanks to transport and dispense a sizable amount of propane. Our drivers are trained to safely handle and safely deliver propane to your home or business.
How often should I have my propane tank refilled?
The frequency of propane deliveries depends on factors such as your usage, tank size, and weather conditions. However, as a general rule, once your tank reaches about 20% full, it’s time to consider a refill. Our team can help you determine the best refill schedule for your needs.
What is tank monitoring?
Rather than monitoring propane tank levels yourself, you can opt into Yoder Oil’s tank monitoring program, part of our regular propane delivery. Tank monitors allow Yoder Oil’s drivers to check the fuel level in your tank in real time.
Our fuel monitoring software tracks precise measurements of fuel tank levels. Twice daily, your tank monitor will send Yoder updates on how the tanks are performing, how much fuel is left, etc. If we see your tank getting low, we’ll send one of our drivers to provide a refill at their earliest availability.
How is payment for propane delivery handled?
Yoder Oil makes the transition from your current home heating provider seamless. We offer flexible payment options, including budget payment plans, pre-payments and fixed-price contracts, much like you see with your standard utility company payments.
